Life Skills are abilities for adaptive and positive behaviour that enable humans to deal effectively with the demands and challenges of life. Development of life skills pertains to training and development activities undertaken by the participant or their carer to increase their ability to live as autonomously as possible. This includes support that will enhance the ability of the participant to travel and use public transport independently, practice and maintain personal hygiene regularly and many other skills like that. Royal Care Assist will engage with you on Daily Living and Life Skills. We understand your goals and work with you and your family or carers to put in place supports to develop everyday skills with a particular focus on building confidence and independence. Numeracy, literacy and financial management skills development

The basic skills may become an uphill task for a person with a disability. Our staff can work with you to develop your skills and independence to manage your finances, including managing a bank account and creating a budget.

These foundational skills are not only useful tools in themselves, they engender certain emotional aspects that affect our behaviour in a number of ways. By working to improve your numeracy and literacy, we can also improve your skills for communication and independent living, and thus help you become autonomous persons.

Training for parents and careers

In our view, being a parent or career is a full‐time job, placing significant demands on an individual’s time, energy and resources. Therefore, we work with parents and careers to develop the skills, knowledge and understanding required to manage both their day‐to‐day realities and longer-term situations. In partnership with parents and carers, we can provide information and guidance about the management of challenging behaviours, personal care and mealtime support.

Our team can also work with parents to manage episodic issues including transitions into, between and out of educational settings and transition out of the family home into really independent or group‐based living environments.

We provide training through fun-filled activities before making the participants act in real life. This training helps them learn the basics and understand the need to perform the act. Teaching life skills is tough, but our skilled employees can manage it well and provide extraordinary results. After this training, participants can handle their actions individually.
